Twenty Years!

The twentieth anniversary of Lawrenceville Main Street's highly successful operations was recently noted by the Lawrence Ledger in this article. Seen from the article are former officials, President Vince Scozzari and Executive Director Lindsey Bohra.

Main Street Partners with American Small Business Development Center

Main Street businesses will soon have access to advisory services to assist such businesses and entrepreneurs! Vince Scozzari, president of the board for Lawrenceville Main Street (LMS), said that the connection would be helpful, as the LMS was looking for opportunities that would be of interest to local businesses. Read the details here.

Main Street Holiday Lighting

Generous contributions by local businesses have allowed holiday lighting to be added to Main Street. This reflects the growing pride in the Village as well as the strengthened business climate we have been fostering. Details.

Birdhouse Library Graces Weeden Park

Thanks to the efforts of former Executive Director Art Shonheiter, with assistance from Bill Schroeder, visitors to Weeden Park will find this wonderful feature. Styled like a large "birdhouse," it is designed for people to leave a book they have read. Another neighbor may borrow the book, and leave one to replace it. It's just another thing that makes Lawrenceville a very supportive and special place. Art got the idea from Main Street supporter Marge Dwyer. Way to go!

Weeden Park Gazebo Dedicated to Art Schonheiter

July 2012. Lawrenceville Main Street President Howard Nelson announced at a recent Music in the Park that the gazebo which occupies a central place for our Weeden Park events has been dedicated in honor of retired LMS Executive Director Art Schonheiter for his years of service to the Lawrenceville community.
Art and his gracious wife Pina are seen above, as they so often are at our events. Thanks Art, for your leadership and hard work that have made Lawrenceville a better place to live!

LawrencevilleMain Street Re-accredited

We are proud to announce that we have again been designated an accredited National Main Street Program by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. For the past six years, LMS has met the 10 required standards for administration and performance in strengthening the local economy and preserving its history. "Accredited Main Street programs are meeting the challenges of the recession head on and are successfully using a focused, comprehensive revitalization strategy to keep their communities vibrant and sustainable," said Doug Loescher, director of the National Main Street Center.

 Main Street Streetscape Project Completed

Lawrence Township has concluded a $201,782 contract for decorative streetlights and sidewalks, benches and bicycle racks in the historic Main Street area. Work included new sidewalks and driveway aprons affecting Main Street and adjacent parts of other roads.

New  street lamps were turned on, brightening the village area. This work was enabled by a    $275,000 Federal grant administred through the state Department of Transportation. Main Street and municipal initiatives were essential to planning this. This follows the repaving of Main Street completed earlier.
