Taste of Lawrenceville
When: Sunday, October 12, 2008, 5-8pm
Where: The Lawrenceville School Abbott Dining Center
2008 Details coming soon!
The event benefits Lawrenceville Main Street, and honors the working farms in the local area and their loyal patronage by Lawrenceville restaurateurs and citizens.
Guests at the Taste enjoy an evening of fine dining and music by Stringzville, an acoustic jazz quartet featuring Village Bakery co-owner Bo Child on the mandolin.
LMS also hosts a silent auction, which was a successful fundraiser last year.
In creating delicious dishes for the Taste, each chef incorporates the harvest of a particular farm. Local food businesses have long been committed to featuring farm-fresh ingredients on their menus. Their loyal support has helped sustain a thriving farm community in Lawrenceville that attracts young farmers to the area and encourages young adults to stay on the family farm. In contrast to the state as a whole, where the average age of a farm proprietor is 55, Lawrenceville is home to many younger farmers.
Farms anticipated to participate:
- Terhune Orchards
- Cherry Grove Farm
- Griggstown Quail Farm
- Village Farms
- Cherry Grove Organic Farm
- Valley Shepherd Creamery
- Gravity Hill Farm
- Catalpa Farm
- Little Acres
- White Cloud Farm
Tickets are $60 per person, available for purchase at the Main Street Office, Chambers Walk Café and the Village Bakery. Tickets at the door are $75.
This event is one of a number sponsored by the Lawrenceville Culinary Partnership.
Donated items for the silent auction are sought. Please use the attached form.
